Introduction to Devarshi Narada
Devarshi Narada is considered one of the most famous sages of Hinduism. He is known as the supreme devotee of Lord Vishnu, a divine messenger and a great preacher of the path of devotion. Narada Muni always roams the three worlds and propagates the name of God and is especially famous for his chanting of “Narayan-Narayan”.

Origin of Devarshi Narada
According to the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran, Devarshi Narada appeared as the son of Lord Brahma's mind. In some Puranas, it is also described that he emerged from the womb of Brahma.
Brahmaji had asked Naradaji to cooperate in the creation of the universe, but since Naradaji's mind was absorbed in the devotion of Lord Shri Hari, he chose the path of devotion. Due to this incident, Brahmaji cursed him to be born in the womb of a Gandharva.
The story of the Upabarhana form
Due to the curse of Brahmaji, Devarshi Narada was born in the womb of a Gandharva as "Upabarhana". He was extremely beautiful and attractive. Seeing his beauty, many Gandharva girls were attracted to him.
Upabarhana remained immersed in splendor and pleasure for a long time. On one occasion, in the assembly of Indra, he forgot to bow down to Lord Brahma, due to which Brahmaji cursed him to be born again as the son of a maidservant.
Journey from a maidservant to a devarshi
In his next birth, Naradaji was born as a poor son of a maidservant. His parents died in his childhood. Despite this, he had immense devotion towards God.
Once, some great men stayed in his village for Chaturmas. Naradaji continued to serve them, listen to their Satsang and Bhagavad Katha. By the grace of the saints, the seed of devotion appeared in his heart and he started remembering the name of God.
The Vision of Lord Vishnu
According to the teachings of the saints, Naradaji became absorbed in the meditation of the Lord in a secluded forest. Pleased with his unique devotion, Lord Vishnu allowed him to see his divine form for some time.
After seeing the Lord, Naradaji's mind was completely absorbed in devotion. Finally, in his next birth, he appeared again as the son of Brahmaji's mind and became famous throughout the universe as a Devarshi.

Devarshi Narada is considered to be the great teacher of the path of devotion. He propagated love and devotion towards God among the people through "Narad Pancharatra" and many teachings related to devotion.

Devarshi Narada is usually depicted in the guise of a saint. He holds a veena in one hand and a cymbal in the other. He is always seen in a happy posture chanting “Narayan-Narayan”.

Family of Devarshi Narada
According to the scriptures, Devarshi Narada is the son of Lord Brahma. Atri, Angira, Marichi, Pula, Bhrigu, Vasishtha and Daksha Prajapati are considered his brothers.
Naradji remained a celibate throughout his life and dedicated his entire life to the propagation of the name of God, devotion and spiritual knowledge.
