A special description of the manifestation of Goddess Maheshwari is found in the Sri Durga Saptashati. When the huge army of demons Shumbha and Nishumbha surrounded Goddess Chandika from all sides, the powers of various gods were manifested for the welfare of the gods and the destruction of the demons.
Many divine powers were manifested from the radiance of Lord Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Kartikeya, Indra, Varaha and Narasimha, which were collectively known as the Saptamatrikas. At the same time, Goddess Maheshwari appeared from the divine power of Lord Shiva.
Devi Maheshwari descended on the battlefield riding on a bull. She was adorned with a trident in her hand, a crescent moon on her head and a Mahanaga bracelet in her hands. She displayed her terrible and powerful power to destroy the demons.

Devi Maheshwari is depicted in a white and divinely radiant form. She is adorned with a trident and a jatamaukuta, just like Lord Shiva. Her vehicle is the bull, i.e. Nandi, which is a symbol of power, religion and stability.
A trident and other Shaivite weapons are depicted in her hands. The spiral bracelet in her hands, the crescent moon on her head and the divine aura give her special glory. The form of Goddess Maheshwari is considered to be a symbol of the union of Shiva and Shakti.
