Introduction to Goddess Gayatri
In Hinduism, Goddess Gayatri is considered the presiding goddess of knowledge, spiritual power, Vedas and divine consciousness. It is narrated in the Puranas that once Lord Brahma wanted to organize a huge yagna. According to Vedic rules, a yagna is not complete without a wife, but at that time Goddess Saraswati was not present. Therefore, Lord Brahma ordered to find a pure and suitable woman to complete the yagna.
According to religious stories, at that time a divine girl named Gayatri appeared and she was married to Lord Brahma through Vedic rituals. In many texts, Mother Gayatri is considered an incarnation of Goddess Saraswati herself. In this way, Goddess Gayatri became a symbol of knowledge, Vedas and spiritual radiance and became worshipped throughout the universe.
Description of the form of Goddess Gayatri
The form of Goddess Gayatri is considered to be extremely bright and divine. She is usually depicted in a five-faced form. Her five faces represent the five vital forces — Prana, Apan, Vyana, Udana and Samana — and are also considered to represent the five elements — Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Sky.
Goddess Gayatri is depicted seated on a lotus seat and has ten arms. Her hands are depicted holding conch, chakra, lotus, ankush, noose and other divine weapons. Two hands are in the Abhaya and Varada mudras, which bless and protect the devotees. A third eye is also depicted on her head, which symbolizes divine knowledge and spiritual power.

The Gayatri Mantra is considered to be one of the most sacred and powerful mantras in Hinduism.
