Mokshada Ekadashi

Introduction
Mokshada Ekadashi is observed on the 11th lunar day (Ekadashi) of the waxing moon in the month of Margashirsha (November–December). It is a highly sacred day dedicated to Lord Vishnu, believed to grant liberation (moksha) to those who observe it with devotion.

Legend
According to legend, King Vaikhanasa once dreamt of his father suffering in the afterlife. Seeking a solution, he was advised by sages to observe Mokshada Ekadashi. Upon performing the fast and prayers, the king’s father attained liberation. Hence, this day is known as Mokshada Ekadashi.

Spiritual Importance
This day is significant for those seeking freedom from the cycle of birth and death. It is also believed that Lord Krishna delivered the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna on this day, hence it is celebrated as Gita Jayanti.
