Yogi Jayanti

Introduction
Yogi Jayanti is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Shastriji Yogi Maharaj, one of the most revered spiritual leaders of the Swaminarayan Sampradaya. He was the fourth spiritual successor and lived a life of devotion, simplicity, and divine service.

Early Life
Yogi Maharaj was born as Javerbhai on 23rd May 1892 in Dhari, Gujarat to Hariprasadbhai and Hetba. From childhood, he showed deep devotion towards God. At the age of 16, he was initiated as a sadhu and given the name Shastriji Maharaj.

A Life of Dedication
Yogi Maharaj lived with complete surrender to God. He emphasized humility, devotion, and service. His motto was “Jivo seva thay ej maro dharm chhe” (Service to living beings is my true religion). He led an exemplary life of celibacy, prayer, and divine connection.

Contribution to the Sampradaya
Yogi Maharaj inspired thousands of youths to lead spiritual and moral lives. He expanded Swaminarayan satsang globally, initiated youth activities, established temples, and laid the foundation for the spiritual revolution in modern times.

Celebration of Yogi Jayanti
His birth anniversary is observed with satsang sabhas, bhajan-kirtans, shibirs, spiritual lectures, and acts of seva (service). It is a day to remember and reflect upon his values and divine life.

His Legacy
His foremost disciple, Pramukh Swami Maharaj, carried forward Yogi Maharaj’s mission and established BAPS as a worldwide spiritual organization. Yogi Maharaj remains an eternal source of inspiration to millions.
