The story of the fast of Wednesday in the Puranic texts is as follows. It was a long time ago that a moneylender had a new marriage. His wife had gone out. It was a new marriage, a new life. 'Now coincidentally that day was Wednesday, the parents-in-law tried to explain that the son is on Wednesday, it is customary not to bid farewell to the daughter on this day. Farewell to Bitai Is it not considered auspicious to go on a journey for any auspicious work on Wednesday. But the moneylender did not agree and said, 'I do not accept all these things. Then the moneylender apologized by holding his ears and promised never to do so again and resolved to observe the fast regularly on Wednesday. Then Budh Devta, who appeared as a moneylender, became intradhyan and the moneylender could go home with his wife. After this incident, both the moneylender and his wife started observing Wednesday fast regularly.
It is believed that whoever tells this story or listens to it or reads it, he does not feel any kind of guilt by traveling on Wednesday and gets all the happiness. Men and women desirous of the peace and happiness of the planet Mercury can observe this fast on Wednesday. The fast of Wednesday is also considered very auspicious and fruitful for advancement in knowledge, intellect, work, business, etc. Lord Ganesha and Lord Buddha are also worshipped on this day.
