Papmochini Ekadashi

Papmochini Ekadashi

Maharaj Yudhisthira expressed his desire to know about the Ekadashi of Krishnapaksha in the month of Phagan from Lord Krishna. Then they said ‘Rajan! I will tell you about this an antidote upakhyan which Maharshi Lomshe said when asked by Chakravati Naresh Mandhata. '

Mandhata asked: ‘God! I would like to hear in the interest of the people which Ekadashi comes in the Krishna party of Phagan month, what is its ritual? And what is the fruit of its vow? Please tell me all this. Lomeshji said: ‘The best Rajan among the kings! It is a matter of the past. In a forest called Chaitrarath, served by the Apsaras, where the daughters of Gandharvas play instruments with their kinkars, an Apsara named Manjughosha went to captivate Munivar Meghavi. Maharshi lived in Chaitrarathvan and practiced celibacy. Manjughosha stopped a kosh away from the ashram out of fear of the sage. And began to sing melodious songs while playing the harp beautifully. Munishri Meghavi walked around and reached there and seeing that beautiful Apsara singing like this, he was blindly captivated. Seeing the condition of the sage, Manjughosha put such a harp under him and started embracing him. Meghavi also started playing with it. He did not even realize day and night. In this way, after many days had passed, Manjughosha started going to heaven. As he was leaving, he said to Munishri: Brahman! Let me go to my world now. '

Meghavi spoke: ‘Goddess! Stay with me till the evening twilight. ’Apsara said:‘ Vipravar! Until now, who knows how many sandhyas were gone! Please think of the time that has passed. '

Lomeshji says: ‘Rajan! Meghavi was stunned to hear Apsara's talk! At that time, when he showed the account of the time spent, he found out that we had been living with Manjughosha for seventy-seven years. He said cursing. ‘Sinner! You become a vampire. ’Despite being distracted by the sage’s curse, he humbly bowed his head and said:‘ Sage! Deliver my curse. Only by saying seven sentences or walking seven steps with honest men can one become friends with them. Brahman! I have been with you for many years, hence Swami! Please be kind to me. '

The sage said: ‘Bhadre! What to do It has ruined my years of penance, yet listen! The name of the auspicious Ekadashi that comes to Krishnapaksha in the month of Phagan is 'Papamochini' which is the one who frees from the curse and removes all sins. Beauty! Doing so will take away your vampirism. '

Saying this, Munishri Meghavi went to the ashram of his father Munivar Chhayavan. Seeing him lying, Munivar Chyavanji asked. ‘Son! What did this do? You destroyed your virtue! '

Meghavi spoke: ‘Father! I have committed a great sin of wandering with Apsara, now you show the atonement so that my sin is destroyed! ’Chyavanji said:‘ Son! In the month of Phagan, the Ekadashi of the atonement comes in Krishnapaksha. Fasting will destroy your sins. '

After hearing this statement of her father, Meghavi made a vow. So their sins were destroyed. Similarly, Manjughosha also observed the vow. By vowing to Papamochini, she was freed from the vampires and the divine form became the best nymph and went to heaven.

Lord Krishna says: Rajan! All the sins of the human being who fasts on Ekadashi of the atonement are automatically annihilated. Reading and listening to this Mahatmadhya is very fruitful. So hey .. Rajan! It is very important to perform Ekadashi of atonement.
